It may be that the family and/or friends maintained it during the latter years before it was officially handed over to William Stockdale.

The witness surname points to it being Louisa Cordner but the father's occupation is problematic since if Louisa's father was James(1774) the profession should be Publican whereas James(1806) is quarryman or mason not a labourer.11,12

Marriage*20 January 1840She married Thomas Pattison, son of John Pattison and Isabelle Pattison, on 20 January 1840 at Houghton le Spring Church, Houghton le Spring, Co Durham, England; James b 1805 is the most likely candidate as a witness since James b 1774 was very old and probably in the workhouse by now.
The witness surname points to it being Louisa Cordner but the father's occupation is problematic since if Louisa's father was James(1774) the profession should be Publican whereas James(1806) is quarryman or mason not a labourer.3,4

Baptism6 December 1812She was baptized on 6 December 1812 at St. Margaret Church, Low Stanley, Tanfield, Co Durham, England.2
(Witness) Birth5 September 1840She witnessed the birth of Eliza Maughan on 5 September 1840 at Gilesgate, St. Giles, Durham, Co Durham, England; This person poses some questions which are difficult to answer. Here we have a Birth Certificate for Caroline Eliza Jackson born to Ann Jackson with no father named. she does not appear to be part of the 1841 Census although her mother lives with her family. In 1851 she appears in the same census as her mother who has now married William Cordner, but with the name Eliza Maughan step-daughter of William. It is difficult to know why she is called Maughan unless by now her biological father has acknowledged her even though he has not married her mother.3
(Witness) Census 18416 June 1841Ann Jackson appeared in the household of George Jackson in the 1841 census at Easton Street, Gateshead, Co. Durham, England.4
Marriage*14 November 1841Ann Jackson married William Cordner, son of James Cordner and Jane Renny, on 14 November 1841 at All Saints Church, Newcastle upon Tyne, England; 14 Nov 1841

It should be noted that Eliza Maughan does not fit easily because she is
claimed as Step-daughter and yet we know that Ann was called Jackson and a
spinster so do we assume that she was her illegitimate child?
